That’s what I’ve been, I tell ya. Even the paint guy at Benjamin Moore said that. (Yes, I am THAT person who tells her whole life story to the guy at the paint store. Get this, though–he knew the previous owner of our house and sold her all their paint–which means he knows kinda what our house looks like on the inside. Interesting, in a totally friendly-old-man kinda way.)
In the past 24 hours, I have:
-relocated all my specialty baking flours, excess freezie pops and a few other things from the kitchen freezer to the basement freezer
-cut-up the mango and pineapple I bought
-picked up additional dining room paint samples from Benjamin Moore
-looked at fabric at Joann for redoing the dining room chairs and brought home some samples
-checked out Home Depot’s sink and mirror selection, since Lowe’s didn’t have anything we wanted
-made lunch for Andrew and me
-laid paint, drapes and fabric samples out on the dining room table for Andrew to check out–he picked a paint and fabric right then and there! (Thankfully, I was fine with the color and the fabric was my favorite, too.)
Our choices:
-drove to Buff State to pick up my parking pass
-proceeded north to La-Z-Boy and Ethan Allen to browse sectionals
-flew into Tops to get my $5 cash-back from buying 5 Stouffer’s frozen pizzas (I figured with the move and me starting school, it might be smart to have some on-hand; I was supposed to get my cash when I bought them a couple days ago, but the cashier’s printer wasn’t working right)
-relocated all the empty boxes from the porch to the garage
-finished scraping the green paint from the plaster wall along the basement (praise God! We got a razorblade scraper, which made the job much easier)
-vacuumed (because the animals don’t stop shedding just because our house is in chaos)
-made an angel food cake
-paid bills and signed us up for e-billing/paperless billing
-prepped the dining room for painting: made table smaller, moved all the ‘future buffet’ items into the porch, along with the four extra chairs, and vacuumed the baseboards and plate rail
-spackled the plaster wall
-ran errands:
-Lowe’s for a replacement wet/dray vac filter, except that we have a Craftsman and you can only get them at Sears
-PetSmart for a new collar and leash for Hadrian and to look at elevated dog bowl feeders
-Ashley Furniture to check on their sectional options; they only have one that would fit our space and it was hideous
-Target for returns and tons of random items, to include school stuff, pet stuff, toothbrush holders and a lamp shade
-Sears for the filter
-JCPenny to check out their drape options
Then HOME to make lunch for Andrew
Whew! I’m sure I’m forgetting some things…. The electrician is coming this afternoon to hook up our dryer, and my to-do list is still plenty long. Andrew had to be in to work this morning at 6 a.m. to oversee some work in the machine shop, which woke me up just a bit earlier than normal. We’re both exhausted! I see an iced coffee in my future…
