So, as you can tell by the conspicuous LACK of blog posts this semester (dare I say there may be fewer than seven??), it’s been a bit rough around here.
Well, ‘rough’ doesn’t really even begin to describe it, but I’ll spare you the gory details. In any event, my stress level has been through the roof lately, and after my two very stressful, very difficult tests (that didn’t go as well as one would have hoped), I needed a break yesterday.
So, I went to my ‘happy place,’ a.k.a. Mrs. Nye’s kitchen, where she fed me an assortment of treats and coffee.
After spending an hour updating her on everything going on in our lives–Carolyn’s baby Blake arrived, Andrew is injured AGAIN, garage still isn’t finished–I went home and continued NOT doing schoolwork. Hey, a girl needs a break sometimes.
However, while these two exams are now behind me, the light at the end of the tunnel is still a bit faint. In addition to all my schoolwork still due–I just made my last ‘to-do’ list of the semester (!)–the yard and house work ‘to do’ items are literally SCREAMING my name. Let’s just say that I still have plants in snow-covered pots, haven’t emptied or cleaned out the composter and our bathroom is bordering on dangerously unsanitary…
I am, however, two classes away from the weekend–woo hoo!–and I hear it’s supposed to creep into the 50s as well. Other than a crazy busy Sunday–I’ll be busy from 8:30 a.m. until after dinner with a church commitment followed by two school-related commitments–I’m looking forward to taking a breather, if only for a day.
